Creaform brings forward a new partnership with Stratasys!

It’s been said before; 3D scanning and 3D printing go hand-in-hand. So the marketing agreement we recently signed with Stratasys was a proverbial natural fit! This new partnership brings together two leaders in their respective, but highly complementary realms, and aims to help users streamline their whole 3D digitizing and additive manufacturing experience.

You may already know Stratasys, a company with headquarters in both Minneapolis and Israel, from its patented FDM® and  PolyJet™ technologies, which enables users to create prototypes and manufactured products directly from 3D CAD files. We are especially proud of this agreement, since Stratasys is a true pioneer in 3D printing; the company was founded in 1989! Interesting tidbit: the idea behind the technology came when the founder tried to create a toy for his daughter in 1988; he used a glue gun filled with polyethylene and wax, and the layer-by-layer process naturally cameto him.

The advantages for both companies are obvious: Creaform users can now quickly use their 3D scan data for rapid prototyping or even 3D-scan-to-print, while Stratasys users gain access to a new source of 3D printable content.

Marco St-Pierre, Vice President , Innovation & Technology
Several different applications could benefit from this marketing agreement, including reverse engineering, manufacturing, healthcare and education (engineering curriculums). “Our Go!SCAN 3D scanners and VXmodel Scan-to-CAD software are the perfect complements to Stratasys 3D printers,” enthused Marco St-Pierre, the Creaform Division Vice President, Innovation and Technology.

Joint marketing agreement
As part of the agreement, which covers all of North America, the Creaform and Stratasys resellers will promote and sell each other’s solutions, and invest in joint capabilities. So far, Creaform attended the ASEE Annual Conference and Exposition, in Jacksonville, Florida. Next show on the calendar is the the Additive Manufacturing + 3D Printing Conference & Expo (AM3D) held in Boston from August 3-5.

Stay tuned for more news regarding this exciting partnership!
