Reverse Engineering

Reverse engineering is now a valid method for creating or recreating new products from existing and sometimes obsolete products. Old parts may have been manufactured without the use of CAD applications. The Handyscan 3D laser scanners can effectively accelerate design processes, especially when carrying out the following tasks :

  • Scanning of objects of any size, in various environments
  • Generation of 3D digital files from existing objects
  • Conformity assessment of 3D models against the original parts or production tooling
  • Conformity assessment of manufactured parts against the original parts
  • Generation of inspection and colorimetric reports in various formats, as required by the client
  • Surface reconstruction and class A surfacing
  • 3D modeling
  • Design of parts and assemblies, tooling and jigs
  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
  • Styling studies
