The Handyscan 3D laser scanners can overcome the challenges encountered with traditional scanning technologies. The technology used in the Handyscan 3D scanners is based on a surface optimization algorithm. Because it avoids point clouds, the more the engineer scans, the more accurate the data acquisition becomes. Rather than adding noise to the model, it grows more refined.

Powerful data acquisition

VXelements, Creaform’s proprietary data acquisition software supporting the Handyscan 3D line-up, offers the possibility of performing multi-resolution scans. Flat sections needing fewer details can be scanned at lower resolution, while sharp edges and more detailed areas can be scanned at higher resolution. This function makes it possible to create much smaller files without giving up on accuracy.

How does the EXAscan allows for optimum resolution ?

Thanks to its automatic multi-resolution feature: The automatic multi-resolution feature enables the scanner to automatically set the highest mesh resolution for any surface acquired in “High Resolution” mode. This reduces the post-processing step accordingly, since it is no longer necessary to increase the mesh resolution manually.
