Bonhomme Carnaval

Bonhomme Carnaval is the spokesperson and official emblem of Quebec City’s winter celebration, the Carnaval de Québec. For more than 50 years, this event takes place in the midst of winter and offers activities of all kinds.

Challenges overcome:

The texture of the arrowhead sash (ceinture fléchée) and hat worn by Bonhomme was particularly hard to render.

The digital files created as a result of this project were handed over to the M. Christie Quebec City Winter Carnival. They will be used for derivative products manufacturing (miniatures, effigies, etc.) based on Bonhomme’s actual proportions. Plus, they will be used for the creation of 3D animations and the possible production of interactive animations with the character.
