Team of 4 people:
2 REVscan laser scanners
Entire scanning process: 19 hours.
Mr. Peter Simons, the fountain’s donor, is seriously contemplating the possibility of using the acquired data to manufacture miniatures of the fountain.
The Handyscan 3D technological edge
This project was made possible thanks to one of the Handyscan 3D system’s specific feature: the possibility of using one and the same reference system to compile data acquired by several Handyscan 3D scanners.
The fountain presented a huge scanning surface, and the team had very little time to work. Therefore, the team members had to use two scanners in order to reduce the scanning time required, and try to meet their deadline.
Once the reference system was recognized by the data acquisition software VxScan, the team was able to scan sections of the fountain simultaneously using two scanners, the data acquired being compiled and positioned by VxScan based on the joint reference system.
