Leinfelden-Echterdingen, September 25, 2014 - Creaform, a worldwide leader in portable 3D measurement solutions and 3D engineering services, presents at EuroMold the most versatile, portable and easy-to-use solution to create reliable 3D content-to-print from existing objects. The Go!SCAN 3D white-light 3D scanners and VXmodel, a 3D scan-to-print software module are the ideal solution for professionals in 3D printing and additive manufacturing.

Go!SCAN 3D Scanner
The new Go!SCAN 3D scanner generation is available in two models: The Go!SCAN 50 was designed to measure the shape of medium to larger parts and offers optimal flexibility. The Go!SCAN 20 delivers maximum resolution and is dedicated for use with smaller objects with intricate details, making it the perfect companion for 3D printers.

The Go!SCAN 3D scanners are mainly used by product development engineers and technicians from all industries, engineers who use CAD and 3D printing professionals. They are also employed in museology, heritage preservation, restoration, digital archiving, 3D scanning for research, analysis and publishing, multimedia, entertainment, computer graphics and special effects.

“Thanks to this latest Go!SCAN 3D release, 3D scanning has never been easier,” explains François Leclerc, Product Manager at Creaform. “With the addition of color and the intelligent hybrid positioning system, the Go!SCAN 3D are the professionals’ go-to all-around solution for professional-grade 3D scanning capabilities.”

VXmodel with Go!SCAN 3D scanner
When combining a Go!SCAN 3D scanner with VXmodel and its 3D-scan-to-print functionalities, users can scan any 3D object, clean up their meshes, make them watertight, and quickly generate print-ready files. Thanks to VXmodel, they can bypass the unnecessary post-treatment steps as well as quickly and easily prepare their files to be printed in 3D.

The advantages of this 3D scanning solution for 3D printing applications can be summarized as follows: Thanks to the high scanning speed of the Go!SCAN 3D typical objects are scanned in 5 minutes or less with an accuracy of up to 0,1 mm (0.004 in.) and resolution of up to 0,2 mm (0.008 in.). Users can now easily and simultaneously capture high-quality geometry and colours in a 3D model. The solution includes all the functionalities needed to prepare scan models for 3D printing like alignments, geometrical entities and cross-sections, mesh improvement and mesh editing. It works perfectly with any 3D printer and is running in a few minutes.

“Creaform’s unique Go!SCAN 3D and VXmodel module are the perfect complement for engineering and CAD professionals that use a 3D printer,” said Francois Leclerc, Product Manager. “The duo’s seamless and quick integration with any 3D printing or CAD process means that users no longer need to rely on third-party post-treatment software. This enables them to get the job done faster. With the Go!SCAN 3D and VXmodel, they ultimately get the optimal scan-to-print solution!”

Other 3D measurement solutions from Creaform
Additionnaly to the Go!SCAN 3D white light scanners, Creaform will be showcasing at EuroMold the new HandySCAN 3D scanners launched in May. The new HandySCAN 300 and HandySCAN 700 provide ground-breaking accuracy, resolution and substantially higher measurement rates - all in truly portable device. With a volumetric accuracy of 60µm/m they are 40% more accurate, 25 times faster than former generation and running in less than 2 minutes. The HandySCAN 3D scanners can be used at all stages of the product lifecycle management, including concept design and prototyping, CAD designs, testing, simulation, and analysis; tooling design, assembly/production, and quality control as well as servicing for documentation, MRO, and replacement/recycling tasks. The integrated TRUaccuracy Technology ensures highly-accurate measurements, regardless of the environment (instability, vibrations, thermal variation, etc.) or operator skills.

The optical CMM HandyPROBE is used for probing tasks in quality control. The arm-free measurement and portable system is the alternative to traditional measurement arms. The HandyPROBE is a wireless, triangulation–based CMM that offers complete freedom of movement and can be used for single or repeated measurements of various parts.

The CMM is tracked by C-Track dual-camera sensors. C-Track sensors also ensure the exact localization of the HandyPROBE, perform continuous image acquisition and transmission, provide lighting of reflectors, manage exchanges with the computer and store sensor parameters. When the HandyPROBE is networked with 2 to 4 C-Tracks, the CMM gives access to C-Link. This functionality makes it possible to network with up to 4 C-Track camera sensors and operate them simultaneously with the HandyPROBE portable CMM or the MetraSCAN 3D optical 3D scanner. C-Link is a mobile measurement solution that creates a virtual measurement room in any area, in order to measure or scan complex setups, jigs, tooling or prototypes faster and easier than ever before. In combination with the VXtrack dynamic tracking module, C-Link can be used for large or complex object
