Creaform and Sonatest announce a new global distribution partnership

October 20, 2016

Sonatest now distributes Creaform’s Pipecheck Analyze pipeline integrity assessment software worldwide to complement its ultrasonic testing instruments.

Creaform, the worldwide leader in portable 3D measurement solutions and engineering services, today announced that Sonatest, a leading innovator and manufacturer of ultrasonic nondestructive testing (NDT) solutions, is now a major official reseller of Pipecheck Analyze.

Fully compatible with Sonatest’s ultrasonic testing instruments, Pipecheck is the only solution that enables the identification of potential issues on both the inner and outer surfaces of pipes, whether those issues are corrosion, dents or gouges. When combined with the strengths of the market’s best NDT equipment, Pipecheck’s single software solution gives the most accurate and realistic damage evaluation of a pipeline.

Sonatest’s entire sales network is now geared up to distribute Pipecheck to the company’s ever-growing pipeline corrosion assessment market. In addition, with Pipecheck, Sonatest will continue its expansion into other sectors, including nuclear plants and geothermal facilities, where corrosion and erosion caused by water vapor travelling at high speeds have become a huge problem.

“We were very impressed by Pipecheck’s performance and accuracy—as well as its amazing simplicity and ease of use,” explained Jonathan Turcotte, Sonatest’s Product Manager. “Thanks to a basic three-step workflow, SCAN – ANALYZE – REPORT, our clients’ field technicians can quickly gain access to the vital information they need to make critical decisions and ensure both compliance and community safety.”

Jérôme-Alexandre Lavoie, Product Manager at Creaform, added, “Pipecheck is an excellent complement to Sonatest’s current ultrasonic data acquisition solutions, helping clients to increase their assessment efficiency in the field. With Sonatest’s powerful flaw detectors and Creaform’s comprehensive and intuitive Pipecheck software, operators and inspectors need look no further than this joint solution for all their pipeline assessment needs.”

Creaform will hold public webinars on Pipecheck and its use in the field on:

·         November 15 (8:00 a.m. EST)

·         November 17 (1:00 p.m. EST)

Interested parties can sign up for the webinars here.

Moreover, Creaform and Sonatest will be demonstrating Pipecheck at the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT)’s annual conference in Long Beach, California from October 24-27, 2016. Visitors can stop by Creaform’s booth 508 and Sonatest’s booth 831 for more details.
