When assessing corrosion in Pipecheck and there is an area of exclusion close to another area of exclusion or scan border, Pipecheck might return the warning message “Section cannot be analyzed.” This message is displayed when these two areas are too close to one another.
It also means that the smallest pit gauge configuration that Pipecheck is allowed to measure (from the corrosion parameters under the Pit Gauge tab) cannot fit between these border and/or exclusion areas. The smallest pit gauge size corresponds to the following equation:
The solution is to lower the minimum pit gauge length. This can be done by lowering any of the variables on the right-hand side of the equation. In the example shown above, by lowering the center length, Pipecheck can now analyze the section that it couldn’t previously.
