Targets required - When accuracy is critical

Targets required - When accuracy is criticalAs we know, the Go!SCAN 3D can generate a complete 3D surface of an object without using a single positioning target (marker). However, this relies on the geometry of the object to scan. When an object’s area doesn’t supply enough geometrical information, targets should be added (even while scanning) in order to allow the acquisition.

An experienced user will notice these areas of low positioning information and add the needed targets before scanning, which minimizes the scanning time and optimizes the accuracy of the resulting mesh.

When accuracy is critical, no matter the object shape, size or the user’s experience, the “Target Required” option can be activated by checking the option box when the Positioning branch is selected in the tree view. This will insure reaching maximal accuracy, as mentioned in the product’s specification sheet.

Targets required - When accuracy is criticalThe Target required option will ensure that there is always enough targets for an optimal positioning. The distribution of the targets can be quite sparse as only 4 targets have to be seen for each frame. Remember that every acquisition frame for the Go!SCAN 3D are about 38 cm by 38 cm (15 in. by 15 in.).

The Target Required option is thus, the ultimate warranty to reach an optimal accuracy as per the technical specification.
